Sarah Ferguson’s emails to Jeffrey Epstein reveal she called him a ‘legend’ and ‘brother’, thanking him for financial help and business opportunities.
LONDON: Sarah Ferguson (pic), the ex-wife of Britain’s former Prince Andrew, called the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein a “legend” and the “brother I have always wished for” in newly-released emails.
The messages, released by US authorities, shed new light on the extent of Ferguson’s ties to the disgraced financier.
In an August 2009 email, Ferguson wrote, “I have never been more touched by a friends (sic) kindness than your compliment to me infront of my girls.”
She added, “Thank you Jeffrey for being the brother I have always wished for.”
The email was sent a year after Epstein was convicted for procuring a minor for prostitution.
Ferguson, 66, profusely thanked Epstein for business opportunities arising for her company “Mother Army” after he held a lunch meeting.
Two months later, she wrote to him saying she “urgently need 20,000 pounds for rent today… Any brainwaves?”
Multiple emails include plans to meet and invitations to events on both sides of the Atlantic.
In a March 2010 exchange, Epstein asked “ny?” to which a reply from “Sarah” said, “Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a shagging weekend!!”
This referred to Andrew and Ferguson’s daughter Princess Eugenie, who was 19 at the time.
In June 2010, Ferguson wrote to Epstein, “You are a legend.”
She added, “I really don’t have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.”
The relationship later soured after Ferguson apologised for her friendship and financial dealings with Epstein in a 2011 interview.
She said she “abhorred paedophilia” and was cutting ties, calling a £15,000 loan from him a “gigantic error of judgement.”
Emails between Epstein and his publicist then discuss the need for Ferguson to apologise and declare “I am not a pedo.”
Multiple UK charities severed links with Ferguson last year after it was revealed she apologised to Epstein in a 2011 email, calling him a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.”
