Pahang farmers receive RM2,011 each in dividends from PASFA, totalling RM1.5 million, marking an increase from last year’s payout.
KUANTAN: A total of 750 participants from the Pahang State Farmers’ Organisation (PASFA) received a dividend payment of RM2,011 each this year.
The total distribution amounted to RM1.508 million.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the dividend payment increased compared to the RM1,500 received by participants last year.
“This is an indication that if (the oil palm and cattle farming sectors are) managed well, we will get good results,” he told reporters at the dividend handover ceremony for E-Kasih participants.
He said the selection of participants was made carefully based on the E-Kasih list in collaboration with district offices and PASFA.
The programme’s main goal is to help take participants out of the poverty line.
Wan Rosdy also hoped the dividend assistance could be fully utilised to alleviate financial burdens.
Commenting on future dividend increases, he said it would depend on plantation performance and current palm oil prices.
“If palm oil prices remain good and the planted area can be expanded, then it won’t be impossible for dividends to increase again,” he added.
