IKBN officer pleads not guilty to RM77,000 false claims

A Kuala Langat IKBN officer faces two charges of abetting false claims totalling RM76,980 for a 2023 training programme, pleading not guilty in Shah Alam Sessions Court.

SHAH ALAM: An officer from the Kuala Langat National Youth Skills Institute pleaded not guilty to two counts of abetting the submission of false claims.

Noor Aini Mohd Khalid, 52, was charged in the Sessions Court here with abetting false claims amounting to RM76,980 for a training programme three years ago.

The first charge alleges she abetted a man in submitting a RM36,000 claim for food, beverage and laundry services not fully provided.

The second charge involves abetting a false claim of RM40,980 for training and promotional materials also not fully supplied.

The offences were allegedly committed at the IKBN Kuala Langat office in Banting in May and July 2023.

They are framed under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, punishable under Section 24(2) of the same law.

A conviction carries a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine of at least five times the claim value or RM10,000.

Deputy public prosecutors proposed bail at RM15,000 with one surety and additional conditions.

Lawyer Muhammad Amin Anuar appealed for minimum bail citing his client’s family responsibilities.

The court set bail at RM9,000 with one surety and imposed the prosecution’s additional conditions.

The accused must surrender her passport and report to the MACC office once a month.

The case has been fixed for mention on April 22.
