India dismisses Pakistan’s blame for Islamabad mosque bombing

India firmly rejects Pakistan’s accusations of involvement in the deadly Islamabad mosque attack, calling the claims baseless and a distraction from internal issues.

INDIA has categorically rejected accusations from Pakistan implicating it in a deadly mosque bombing in Islamabad last Friday.

The attack killed at least 31 people and has sparked a diplomatic row between the neighbouring nations.

In a strongly worded statement, India’s foreign ministry condemned the bombing and expressed condolences for the loss of life.

It described Pakistan’s allegations of Indian involvement as “baseless and pointless”.

“The bombing at an Islamabad mosque earlier today is condemnable and India condoles the loss of life it has caused,” the ministry said.

“It is unfortunate that, instead of seriously addressing the problems plaguing its social fabric, Pakistan should choose to delude itself by blaming others for its home-grown ills.”

The statement concluded by saying, “India rejects any and every such allegation.”

The exchange highlights the ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed rivals, who have a long history of mutual suspicion and accusations.
