38 pelajar UNISZA dipindahkan akibat banjir

KUALA NERUS: Sebanyak 38 pelajar Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) yang tinggal di luar kampus terpaksa dipindahkan ke asrama, selepas kediaman mereka mula dinaiki air semalam.

Naib Canselor UniSZA Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam berkata ia melibatkan 33 pelajar daripada Kampus Gong Badak dan lima pelajar Kampus Tembila, Besut.

Beliau berkata kesemua pelajar dibawa menggunakan pelbagai aset UniSZA termasuk van, bot dan lori yang telah disediakan lebih awal.

“Hujan berterusan menyebabkan kawasan rumah sewa pelajar di sekitar Kuala Nerus mula dinaiki air sejak semalam.

“Pelajar terlibat telah menghubungi Task Force Banjir UniSZA yang ditubuhkan khas untuk membantu kakitangan dan pelajar yang terkena banjir untuk bantuan. Proses pemindahan telah dijalankan dengan segera bagi memastikan keselamatan mereka,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.

Dalam pada itu Fadzli berkata UniSZA juga telah mengaktifkan Bilik Gerakan Banjir yang beroperasi selama 24 jam beberapa hari lepas.

Beliau berkata petugas terdiri daripada kakitangan Pejabat Pendaftar UniSZA, dibantu beberapa pelajar.

“Kita turut menyediakan sumbangan barangan makanan, peralatan kebersihan diri dan bantuan kewangan untuk kakitangan atau pelajar terjejas banjir.

“Mereka yang terlibat boleh menghubungi bilik gerakan banjir atau task force banjir di talian 09-6687755; 09-6993222 atau 09-6687750 yang beroperasi 24 jam untuk urusan mendapatkan bantuan,” katanya yang menasihatkan pelajar supaya lebih berhati-hati pada musim banjir ini.
