Kedah KPDN donates forfeited Toyota Hilux and Honda Civic to Alor Setar Vocational College to boost TVET training for over 120 automotive students
ALOR SETAR: The Kedah branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has donated two forfeited vehicles to Alor Setar Vocational College.
The vehicles, a Toyota Hilux and a Honda Civic, were forfeited to the government under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
State KPDN director Muhammad Nizam Jamaludin said the contribution aims to enhance students’ practical skills with real automotive technology.
“This handover is part of KPDN’s ongoing commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation with educational institutions,” he told reporters.
He added that KPDN hopes the assets will be fully utilised to ensure students receive quality industry-aligned training.
Muhammad Nizam revealed that 131 enforcement actions were taken under the act throughout 2025.
These actions involved 43 vehicles with a total seizure value exceeding RM3.49 million.
He said two more vehicles are expected to be handed over to the National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) Jitra soon.
The department hopes the contribution will positively impact the education sector and local community.
College director Saari Yazit said the donation will strengthen practical training for over 120 automotive students.
He stated that with rising student numbers, available training vehicles are crucial for balanced practical exposure.
