French Open: Malaysian mixed doubles pairs exit quarterfinals

Both Malaysian mixed doubles pairs, Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai, lost in French Open quarter-finals.

THE Malaysian mixed doubles challenge at the French Open concluded today with both national pairs eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei suffered a surprising defeat to Hong Kong’s Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet.

The Malaysian pair lost 9-21, 18-21 in just 37 minutes during their quarter-final match.

Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai Jemie also fell in their quarter-final encounter at the Glaz Arena in Cesson-Sevigne.

They lost to second seeds Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping of China 18-21, 16-21.

This marked the fourth consecutive quarter-final exit for the married couple Goh and Shevon.

They had experienced similar defeats at the Denmark Open, Arctic Open, and Korea Open previously. – Bernama
