Malaysian police have new leads on businessman Muhammad Adlan Berhan’s location through Interpol cooperation, says home minister.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police have obtained new leads in their efforts to locate and bring home businessman Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed the latest development resulted from cooperation between Malaysian police and Interpol.

He stated that cooperation with Interpol is ongoing and has yielded several new leads.

“I will not go into detail as it could interfere with our investigation, but we have identified several new clues that will aid our efforts to locate and bring him back,” he said during the winding up of debate on the Supply Bill 2026 for the Home Ministry in Parliament.

He was responding to questions from RSN Rayer and Ramkarpal Singh about the status of efforts to trace and repatriate the businessman.

Saifuddin Nasution confirmed that Interpol has been officially notified regarding the wanted individual.

“I have personally met its head. Our authorities, particularly the police in this case, are making every possible effort by leveraging Police-to-Police cooperation and Interpol’s network,” he added.

He emphasised that using Interpol’s network represents the proper process for bringing back any wanted individual to face legal proceedings.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had previously reported it was tracking down Muhammad Adlan and lawyer Mansoor Saat.

They are wanted to assist investigations into alleged misappropriation of a project involving foreign workers’ biometric data.

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki stated yesterday that the investigation involving the fugitive businessman has been completed and awaits further action. – Bernama
