GRS to announce Sabah election candidates on November 11 or 12

GRS chairman Hajiji Noor confirms candidate list is finalised, with announcement expected days before the November 15 nomination day.

KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is expected to announce its candidates for the 17th Sabah state election on November 11 or 12.

GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also Sabah Chief Minister, said the candidate list has been finalised and awaits official announcement.

“I will probably make the announcement on Nov 11 or 12, about three or four days before nomination day,” he told reporters after presenting SMJ 4.0 Fellowship letters to 42 youths at Menara Kinabalu.

The Election Commission set November 15 as nomination day, with early voting on November 25 and polling day on November 29.

Hajiji noted some individuals were dissatisfied for not being selected as candidates and decided to leave the party.

“We must have quality and should not sulk or quit the party simply because we are not chosen as candidates,” he said.

He stressed that party interests should be prioritised first.

Meanwhile, Hajiji said the GRS manifesto will be launched after nomination day, likely one or two days following that date. – Bernama
