Alert-level continuous rain warning issued for Labuan and Sabah

MetMalaysia issues alert-level continuous rain warning for Labuan and parts of Sabah from Nov 4-5, plus thunderstorm warnings for multiple states.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued an alert-level continuous rain warning for Labuan and several areas in Sabah.

The warning is effective from tomorrow until November 5.

Affected areas in Sabah include the Interior Division covering Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort.

West Coast areas include Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud.

Kudat district is also included in the warning.

MetMalaysia has additionally issued a thunderstorm warning for multiple states until 7 pm today.

The thunderstorm warning covers Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak.

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in Pasir Mas, Jeli and Tanah Merah in Kelantan.

Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu are also affected.

In Pahang, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin districts face thunderstorm conditions.

Negeri Sembilan’s affected areas include Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin.

Jasin district in Melaka is expected to experience thunderstorms.

Johor’s affected districts include Tangkak, Segamat, Muar and Mersing.

In Sarawak, multiple areas face thunderstorm warnings including Kuching, Serian and Samarahan.

Other Sarawak areas affected are Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu and Limbang.

Sabah’s Interior Division (Sipitang) also faces thunderstorm conditions today.

“The public can obtain the latest weather updates via MetMalaysia’s official website,” the department stated.
