Sukan berpotensi sumbang pingat di Sukan Asia dan Komanwel 2026 dikenal pasti

KBS kenal pasti tujuh sukan berpotensi sumbang pingat Sukan Asia 2026 dan lima sukan untuk Sukan Komanwel 2026 melalui projek ASIAKOM.

KUALA LUMPUR: Kementerian Belia dan Sukan telah mengenal pasti tujuh sukan berpotensi menyumbang pingat pada temasya Sukan Asia tahun depan.

Timbalan Menteri Belia dan Sukan Adam Adli Abdul Halim menyenaraikan acara akuatik terjun, badminton, berbasikal trek, memanah, skuasy, karate dan wushu sebagai sukan berpotensi tersebut.

Beliau turut menyatakan lima sukan berpotensi meraih pingat bagi Sukan Komanwel 2026 pula.

Sukan tersebut ialah angkat berat, boling padang, para olahraga, para lawn bowls dan para powerlifting.

Kementerian melalui Majlis Sukan Negara telah melaksanakan projek khas ASIAKOM tahun ini bagi mempersiapkan atlet.

Projek ini memberi tumpuan kepada 39 atlet daripada sembilan jenis sukan dengan pelbagai sokongan komprehensif.

Aspek sokongan merangkumi latihan, pendedahan pertandingan, pengurusan kejurulatihan, kem binaan, serta sains dan perubatan sukan.

Jumlah jenis sukan dalam projek ini akan disesuaikan berdasarkan prestasi atlet negara pada Sukan SEA 2025 di Thailand.

Adam Adli berkata demikian ketika sesi soal jawab lisan di Dewan Rakyat menjawab soalan mengenai strategi kementerian.

Beliau turut berkongsi mengenai status terkini dan unjuran pencapaian Malaysia dalam Sukan Olimpik dan Sukan Asia akan datang.

Beberapa pencapaian luar biasa atlet negara masa kini mengukuhkan keyakinan mengenai hala tuju sukan Malaysia.

Keyakinan ini termasuk berada di landasan tepat untuk mencipta sejarah meraih pingat emas Olimpik pertama pada 2028. – Bernama
