Festival Idea Putrajaya 2025 concludes with 68 strategic agreements generating over RM158 million ROI, focusing on research and industry collaboration.
PUTRAJAYA: A total of 68 strategic cooperation agreements with a return on investment exceeding RM158 million were signed during the two-day Festival Idea Putrajaya 2025 programme.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the memoranda of understanding, agreement and letters of intent demonstrated the ministry’s commitment to strengthening strategic collaboration networks.
“Most collaborations focused on high-impact research, particularly in health and agriculture, providing direct benefits to the people,” he said in a statement.
He also highlighted sharing service initiatives with industry players, including industrial training programmes giving students real-world experience.
Such efforts strengthen university-industry relations while preparing graduates for current job market needs, he added.
The first day generated RM137.7 million in ROI with participation from 31 public universities and four polytechnic departments alongside 31 industries.
Day two saw RM21.2 million in ROI involving 22 public universities and 11 private institutions collaborating with 34 industries.
The National Defence University of Malaysia recorded the highest public university participation with nine agreements worth RM1.91 million.
Universiti Kuala Lumpur emerged as the most active private institution with five agreements and one memorandum worth RM2.995 million.
Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah contributed the highest ROI at RM117.505 million among public universities.
Multimedia University recorded the highest private institution ROI at RM5 million. – Bernama
