PNB channels RM650,000 for Santuni MADANI programme in Kedah

Permodalan Nasional Berhad allocates RM650,000 for community development in Kampung Telok Kandis, focusing on entrepreneurship, education, and welfare

ALOR SETAR: Permodalan Nasional Berhad has allocated RM650,000 to implement its Santuni MADANI programme in Kampung Telok Kandis here.

The investment firm’s deputy president and group chief executive, Datuk Rick Ramli, said the focus is on community economic development, education, and local welfare.

He stated the initiative aims to ensure economic benefits are felt directly by grassroots communities.

PNB has also allocated RM670,000 for a similar programme in Kampung Merlimau Pantai, Melaka.

This brings the total allocation for both villages to RM1.32 million.

“PNB’s mission is to build shared prosperity, and every investment undertaken must provide direct value to the community,” Rick said at a programme in the village.

He added that these investments must create long-term opportunities for future generations.

Through the programme, 13 local entrepreneurs received business guidance from Universiti Utara Malaysia.

The guidance covers strengthening business fundamentals, digitalisation, and market access expansion.

PNB also funded the construction of a multipurpose hall and upgraded a preschool.

It carried out repair works on the village entrance gate to improve public facilities.

The company channelled cash assistance and basic food supplies to 60 asnaf.

It also donated medical beds and wheelchairs to families needing healthcare support.

In education, 10 students received PNB TVET scholarships for diploma studies.

The students are from villages in the Kota Setar and Sik districts.

Sekolah Kebangsaan Alor Mengkudu was selected as a PNB Sekolah Angkat MADANI.

Contributions included smart televisions and assistance for asnaf students.

Rick said the programme reflects PNB’s comprehensive approach to ensuring investments benefit the people.

“PNB is committed to ensuring that every initiative implemented truly impacts the lives of the people,” he added.

Entrepreneur Mohd Redzuan Zainal said the programme gave him confidence to expand his business.

“The equipment and mentoring sessions have helped me better understand how to manage my business,” he said.
