Pantai Puteri beach photos show rubbish along shoreline

A netizen concerned over rubbish at Pantai Puteri’s shoreline

A woman who visited Pantai Puteri in Melaka posted photos and videos on Threads, writing: “Is this Pantai Puteri now? Seriously disappointed.”

The video, reportedly captured on June 24, 2026, showed piles of rubbish scattered along the shoreline.

Netizens agreed with her assessment. One woman said: “As a Melaka resident, the beach here is not looking very clean.”

Some users offered possible explanations for the situation.

One netizen said: “Don’t blame the beach, blame irresponsible people who threw rubbish into the river and the sea. Winds from the west and south carry rubbish and bring it to the beach. Perhaps some of the rubbish comes from neighbouring countries. Try checking the labels on the bottles.”

Another said the rubbish comes from the ocean.

“When water levels rise, debris floats and washes up on the beach.”

“Not all the rubbish comes from visitors. If you notice, most of it accumulates along the shoreline.”
