Iran claims to have hit 14 US military bases in the region over seven days, vowing to block US and Israeli ships from the Strait of Hormuz.

KUALA LUMPUR: Iran’s armed forces have targeted 14 United States military bases across the region in the seven days since US-Israeli aggression began, according to a senior Iranian military spokesman.

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi stated in a televised interview that many of these bases had been completely destroyed and would require at least five years to rebuild.

The spokesman warned that vessels belonging to the US and Israel would be targeted by Iranian forces if they attempted to pass through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

“All ships are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz except those belonging to the US and Israel,” Shekarchi said, according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.

He accused the US and Israel of initiating a war that has brought insecurity to all nations across the region.

Shekarchi called on regional countries to cooperate in expelling US military bases from the Middle East.

The Iranian general criticised US strategies as a dangerous policy that fuels conflict and creates regional insecurity.

This escalation follows US and Israeli attacks on several locations in Iran, including Tehran, on February 28.

In immediate retaliation for those strikes, Iranian forces launched attacks on four US military bases in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
