The ASEAN Championship, now named the ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026, will celebrate its 30th anniversary next July and August as 11 national teams compete for the title of Champions of ASEAN. This 16th edition of the biennial tournament continues a tradition that began with the inaugural event in Singapore in 1996.
Hyundai Motor Company joins as title sponsor for the first time, supporting the competition as defending champions Vietnam look to retain the crown they won with a 5-3 aggregate victory over Thailand. The Official Draw will take place next year, while Play-offs to decide the final Group Stage spot are scheduled for June 2 and 9.
The 10-nation Group Stage will run from July 24 to Aug 8 in a single round-robin format across the region. The Knockout Rounds will follow in a home-and-away format from Aug 15 – 26.
AFF President Major General Khiev Sameth said the tournament’s 30th anniversary marks a significant milestone and thanked fans for their long-standing support. Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific President Sunny Kim highlighted Hyundai’s commitment to using football as a platform to unite and inspire millions across ASEAN.
