Malaysian Armed Forces team aims for top-three position in 35th Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta against 28 international competitors.
KLANG: The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Uranus team is targeting a podium finish at the 2025 Raja Muda of Selangor International Regatta.
ATM Uranus skipper Warrant Officer 1 Ahmad Fakhrizan Deraman aims to improve on last year’s fourth-place overall result.
He leads a 14-member crew determined to compete against former champions in this year’s challenging field.
“This year, the opponents are quite tough compared with previous editions because all those competing this year are former champions,” Ahmad Fakhrizan told Bernama.
He emphasized that teamwork remains crucial despite having many new crew members this season.
The 35th RMSIR features 28 international teams competing across a nine-day sailing route.
The race began in Port Klang and proceeds to Pangkor in Perak before continuing to Penang.
Competition concludes in Langkawi with the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, participating in the regatta. – Bernama
