PDRM marks 219 years as guardian of national security – IGP

The Royal Malaysia Police celebrates its 219th anniversary, reaffirming its role as the nation’s steadfast protector through centuries of service and sacrifice.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has reaffirmed its position as the nation’s steadfast bulwark in preserving security and stability. The force marked its 219th anniversary with a message of unwavering commitment.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the iconic blue uniform represents countless stories of courage and selfless sacrifice. He stated these acts are given without expectation of reward.

He said the force continues to advance by leveraging resilience, expertise and modern policing technology. This forward movement is essential to face contemporary challenges and safeguard national sovereignty.

“We, the Sang Saka Biru, will continue to stand firm, faithfully carrying out our duty, never fearful and never retreating in preserving the peace and harmony of the people,” Mohd Khalid said. He extended his wishes on the PDRM official Facebook page for the 219th Police Day.

He also described continuous public trust and support as the lifeblood of the force’s strength. This partnership is crucial to ensuring Malaysia remains peaceful, stable and prosperous.

In the same social media post, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay also conveyed his appreciation. PERKEP Malaysia chairman Datin Seri Datuk Dr Munirah Che Rose and vice-chairman Datuk Zalena Mohd Ariffin joined in extending Police Day wishes.
