Ringgit’s strong performance a point of national pride

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil says the ringgit’s status as Asia’s best-performing currency for two consecutive years is a source of national pride.

MUAR: The ringgit’s strong performance, which has seen it become Asia’s best-performing currency for two consecutive years, is an achievement that should be a source of national pride, according to Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Fahmi, who is also the MADANI Government spokesperson, stated that the performance reflects the country’s solid economic fundamentals.

He noted the ringgit is currently trading at around RM3.95 against the US dollar and RM3.10 against the Singapore dollar, underscoring its resilience compared with regional peers.

“This is a strong achievement, and over the past two years, the ringgit has been among the best-performing currencies in Asia,” he told reporters after an event here.

He added that such recognition of Malaysia’s efforts should be a point of pride for all, regardless of political differences.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had earlier highlighted the ringgit’s performance, saying it reflects solid economic growth supported by increased investment and improving global market confidence.
