Tengku Zafrul congratulates national badminton duo Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah for their Japan Masters win and steady season form.
BADMINTON Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz has praised national women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan–M. Thinaah after they clinched the Japan Masters 2025 title in Kumamoto today.
He said the pair’s third Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour crown this season reflects their discipline and steady form.
“Congratulations once again to Pearly-Thinaah. Today’s victory at the Japan Masters is not just a big win, but also their third BWF World Tour title this year.
“Their triumphs at the Thailand Open, Arctic Open and now the Japan Masters show remarkable consistency. Malaysia’s pride,” he said on his official Facebook page.
The world No. 2 duo sealed the title after overcoming Japan’s Rin Iwanaga–Kie Nakanishi 22–20, 21–19 in a 54-minute battle.
With the win, they earned USD37,525 (RM155,190) in prize money. – Bernama
