JPJ calls for responsible driving culture and traffic law compliance to reduce accidents and honour road victims on World Day of Remembrance.
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians must adopt a more responsible and disciplined driving culture to improve road safety, said Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli.
He emphasised that road safety is a shared responsibility requiring all users to comply with traffic laws and respect others.
“On the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2025, JPJ calls on all Malaysians to value every life and work together to reduce accidents by adhering to traffic laws,” he said in a statement.
Aedy Fadly highlighted JPJ’s commitment to strengthening enforcement through integrated operations and expanding awareness campaigns.
This effort is supported by collaboration with police, MIROS, Perkeso, and non-governmental organisations.
“JPJ reaffirms its commitment to reducing accident rates and prioritising road user safety, aligning with Malaysia’s vision for a safer transport system,” he said.
This year’s WDoR theme, ‘Investing in Safe Roads to Recover Our Lost Talents’, focuses on investing in safe infrastructure and intelligent transport systems to protect all users, particularly youth.
WDoR, established by the United Nations in 2005, honours accident victims and recognises the sacrifices of frontline workers including rescuers, enforcement officers, and medical staff. – Bernama
