Mangsa kepala air di Sungai Klang masih belum ditemui

Operasi SAR diteruskan untuk mencari lelaki 34 tahun yang dihanyutkan arus deras di Sungai Klang berhampiran Pintasan Saloma

KUALA LUMPUR: Operasi mencari dan menyelamat (SAR) menghadapi cabaran besar dalam usaha mengesan seorang lelaki yang dihanyutkan arus deras di Sungai Klang berhampiran Pintasan Saloma.

Paras air meningkat hampir enam meter selepas hujan lebat pagi semalam, menyukarkan usaha pencarian.

Ketua Polis Daerah Dang Wangi ACP Sazalee Adam berkata operasi mencari mangsa berusia 34 tahun itu akan diperluas secara berperingkat mengikut aliran sungai menuju ke Shah Alam, Selangor.

“Kami akan mulakan operasi mencari dari lokasi kejadian dan bergerak sejauh mungkin hari ini, namun ia bergantung kepada paras air semasa,” katanya kepada pemberita.

Polis mengenal pasti mangsa sebagai penyelia bagi projek penambahbaikan sungai di kawasan berkenaan yang cuba mengalih kenderaannya ketika kejadian berlaku.

Rakaman video yang tular menunjukkan mangsa sempat keluar dari kenderaannya sejurus kejadian kepala air berlaku.

Mangsa cuba menyelamatkan diri dengan berpaut pada dinding tebing sungai.

“Bagaimanapun, arus deras menyebabkan mangsa gagal bertahan lalu dihanyutkan,” jelas Sazalee.

Pusat Gerakan Operasi (PGO) Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM) memaklumkan operasi SAR disambung hari ini selepas ditangguhkan 11 malam semalam.

Operasi bermula di kawasan mangsa terakhir dilihat dan diperluas sehingga kawasan Selangor.

Pencarian menumpukan kepada permukaan air sungai.

Kejadian berlaku pada kira-kira 5.30 petang dan turut melibatkan 11 mangsa lain yang terperangkap di bawah jambatan.

Kesemua 11 mangsa tersebut berjaya diselamatkan oleh JBPM. – Bernama
