KTMB sold 82,896 tickets in 24 hours for travel between January and April, with only 79 unsuccessful transactions being processed for refunds.

KUALA LUMPUR: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) recorded 82,896 ticket sales within 24 hours after bookings opened for travel between January 1 and April 30 next year.

KTMB chief technical officer Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin said the overwhelming demand reflects high public confidence in trains as a preferred travel mode.

“The extraordinary response within just 24 hours proves that trains remain the preferred choice among the public,” he said in a statement.

He noted that while unsuccessful transactions were minimal, KTMB remains committed to improving its system for a smoother ticket-purchasing experience.
