Kind Malaysian Grab driver goes above and beyond, helping a sick passenger get care and receiving quick rewards.
LIFE often surprises us when we least expect it, and sometimes those moments of hardship reveal the kindness of strangers.
For one young Malaysian woman, that kindness came in the form of a Grab driver who went above and beyond when fate tested her at her weakest.
Threads user Mirza, originally from Perak and now residing in Seremban, shared her story of a Sunday morning ordeal that quickly turned into a heartwarming encounter.
On November 16, Mirza woke up feeling extremely unwell.
Shivering and barely able to stand, she went down to her apartment lobby in search of a clinic that was open on a Sunday. After being given directions, she walked to the clinic only to find it closed.
With no other option, she booked a Grab to another clinic—but another worry weighed on her: she only had RM30 left while waiting for her next salary.
When the Grab driver arrived, he immediately noticed Mirza crying and asked about her condition.
Without hesitation, he took her to the nearest clinic, which was crowded.
Seeing her distress, the driver, whom she affectionately calls “Pak Cik”, insisted on helping further.
“It’s okay dik, don’t worry about money. Let’s find somewhere else,” he told her.
Overwhelmed, Mirza cried harder, thinking of her parents who were far away.
The driver then offered to take her to a private hospital, but she declined due to financial constraints.
Eventually, they went to a government hospital’s emergency department. The driver’s kindness didn’t stop there—he bought her breakfast, gave her pocket money, and later checked on her via WhatsApp.
Touched, Mirza urged others to give him 5 stars and prayed for his livelihood. She also speculated he might be from the OKU (Persons with Disabilities) community.
In a follow-up, the driver, Shafie, shared the uplifting twist:
“Alhamdulillah, Allah rewarded what I gave after sending Mirza to the hospital. Jobs came in non-stop. I went home before Maghrib with more than RM300.”
Mirza’s story has since captured the hearts of Malaysians, showing that compassion can appear in the most unexpected moments.
“That uncle is so kind,” one user called zalehamardiah commented.
“May Allah bless Pak Cik with abundant sustenance and good health. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery—take care, girl!” tiangyangberkata wrote.
