Pearly-Thinaah exit ends Malaysia’s China Open run

Malaysia’s challenge ends after Pearly-Thinaah’s quarter-final loss to Japan’s Fukushima-Matsumoto in straight sets.

MALAYSIA’S challenge in the China Open Badminton Championships has ended at the quarter-final stage after women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah crashed out at the Changzhou  Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium today.

The world number five Malaysians went down 16-21, 16-21 to Japan’s world number three combination of Yuki Fukushima-Mayu Matsumoto in 46 minutes.

The result saw the Japanese pair level their head-to-head record against Pearly-Thinaah at 5-5.
