Anwar confident Cabinet will approve release of Tabung Haji RCI report

Anwar said he had no objection to releasing the report, but stressed that the decision must follow due process through Cabinet deliberation.

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is confident the Cabinet will approve a proposal to make public the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) after it is tabled for consideration at Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting.

Anwar said he had no objection to releasing the report, but stressed that the decision must follow due process through Cabinet deliberation.

“People have asked why the RCI report on TH has not been made public. I have no objection and I agree that it should be released, but it must follow the proper process. I will table the matter to the Cabinet on Wednesday, and I believe the Cabinet will agree.

“We previously deferred the report because Tabung Haji said it needed time to make improvements.

“There is now a new management team in place to carry out those reforms, and we are ready to make the report public,” he said at the opening ceremony of the National Training Week (NTW) 2026 finale at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Permatang Pauh near here today.

Also present were Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.
