MALAYSIAN OFFICE furniture manufacturer Bristol Furniture has unveiled what it describes as the country’s first self-weight adjustment ergonomic office chair, the Zenon Chair, at ARCHIDEX 2026.
Designed and manufactured in Malaysia, the Zenon Chair is the result of two years of research, engineering and product development, aimed at making ergonomic seating more intuitive and accessible for everyday users.
According to Bristol, the idea behind the chair stemmed from a simple observation by the company’s founder.
Despite investing in ergonomic office chairs, many users were not fully benefiting from them because they either did not know how to adjust the settings correctly or never made the necessary adjustments.
This led to a fundamental question that shaped the project: “Why should people adjust the chair when the chair can adjust to the person?”
The answer came in the form of a self-weight adjustment mechanism that automatically adapts to the user’s body weight, eliminating the need for complicated manual adjustments while providing balanced support throughout the day.
Bristol said the intelligent mechanism allows users to enjoy a more seamless sitting experience that promotes healthier posture with minimal effort.
Beyond its ergonomic functionality, the Zenon Chair also features an ultra-slim, contemporary design intended to complement modern office spaces, executive workstations, collaborative environments and commercial interiors.
The company said every aspect of the chair was designed to strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality, reflecting its commitment to creating workplace furniture that enhances both comfort and productivity.
