PM Anwar urges SPM candidates to stay calm and confident

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim encourages SPM candidates, including those in flood-hit areas, to take their exams with confidence until December 23.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged all Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates to remain calm and confident throughout their examinations.

In a social media post, he specifically addressed students in flood-affected areas, encouraging them to trust in their abilities during the exam period running until December 23.

“The government, through the Ministry of Education and relevant agencies, is fully prepared to ensure every candidate can sit for the examination in a safe, orderly and secure environment,” he said.

Anwar emphasised that candidates’ effort, prayers and perseverance could lead to future success.

He also shared a video showing first-day examination checks at SMK Putrajaya Presint 11(1), which involved 228 candidates.

The written SPM 2025 examination began today with Bahasa Melayu Paper 1, followed by Visual Arts Education and Bahasa Melayu Paper 2.

Meanwhile, flood conditions continue to affect multiple states across Malaysia.

As of this morning, 20,146 flood victims have been placed at 119 temporary relief centres across eight states.

Pahang has become the latest state affected by flooding, joining Kelantan, Terengganu, Perlis, Kedah, Selangor, Perak and Penang.

The Northeast Monsoon began on November 13 and is expected to continue until March 2026.
