Perak announces two months’ bonus for civil servants in 2026 budget

Perak’s 2026 budget includes a two-month bonus for state civil servants, RM1,000 for Haj pilgrims, and increased allowances for KAFA teachers and village chiefs.

IPOH: The Perak state government has announced a two-month salary bonus for its civil servants under the 2026 state budget.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the Special Financial Aid will be paid in December to all state government employees.

The bonus also extends to Ex Officio members, state executive council members, state-appointed teachers, Orang Besar Jajahan and MySTEP contract staff.

“Village Development and Security Committee chairmen will receive RM600, while KAFA, I’dadi and Thanawi teachers will get RM400,” he said when tabling the budget at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building.

Constituency service centres will receive two months’ allowance totaling RM20,000 in recognition of assemblymen’s role as government-public bridges.

Saarani also announced an increase in KAFA teachers’ monthly allowance from RM200 to RM400 effective January 1, 2026.

This raise brings their total monthly allowance to RM1,500, including the RM1,100 provided by the Federal Government.

The measure will benefit 3,310 KAFA teachers and 80 I’dadi and Thanawi teachers in Perak.

The additional financial implication for the state government is RM9.4 million annually, inclusive of EPF and PERKESO contributions.

For the first time, the state will allocate RM1,000 each to over 3,000 Haj pilgrims from Perak performing the pilgrimage next year.

This Haj pilgrim assistance carries a financial implication of RM3 million for the state government.

Monthly allowances for Traditional Village, Chinese Village and Indian Village chiefs will increase by RM100 to RM900 monthly from January 1, 2026.

“This raise will benefit 996 village chiefs with a financial implication of RM4.8 million for the state government,” Saarani added.

The annual increase for village chiefs’ allowances amounts to RM1.4 million.

Saarani tabled the Perak Budget 2026 totaling RM1.61 billion, comprising RM1.045 billion in management expenditure and RM568 million in development expenditure.
