Namewee’s police bail extended again in Taiwanese influencer death case

Rapper Namewee’s police bail extended until Dec 10 as authorities await toxicology and post-mortem reports in Taiwanese influencer’s death investigation.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police bail for rapper Wee Meng Chee, known as Namewee, has been extended for another 14 days until December 10.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the extension was granted at 4 pm today.

Authorities are still awaiting toxicology and post-mortem reports related to the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsin.

The 33-year-old influencer was found dead in a hotel bathtub on Jalan Conlay on October 22.

Hsieh was subsequently taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for post-mortem examination.

Namewee was initially remanded from November 5 to 13 before being released on police bail.

The case was originally classified as sudden death but is now being investigated as murder.

Investigators are proceeding under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Namewee is believed to be the last person seen with the victim before her death. – Bernama
