Polis tahan lelaki susulan objek serupa bom di kedai runcit Sitiawan

Polis menahan seorang lelaki selepas objek menyerupai bom ditemui di sebuah kedai runcit 24 jam di Sitiawan, dengan pihak bom mengesahkan ia tidak berbahaya.

MANJUNG: Polis menahan seorang lelaki berusia 34 tahun susulan penemuan satu objek menyerupai bom di sebuah kedai barangan runcit 24 jam di Manjung Point, Sitiawan.

Ketua Polis Daerah Manjung ACP Hasbullah Abd Rahman berkata kejadian berlaku pada 10.30 malam semalam apabila seorang pekerja premis menyedari kehadiran objek mencurigakan itu.

“Bertindak atas maklumat orang awam, pasukan polis bersama Unit Pemusnah Bom (UPB) IPD Manjung dikerahkan ke lokasi,” katanya.

Beliau berkata siasatan awal mendapati objek berkenaan tidak berfungsi dan tidak mengandungi bahan letupan.

“UPB mengesahkan objek berkenaan tidak berbahaya berikutan ketiadaan bahan letupan selain litar yang tidak lengkap,” katanya.

Kes kini disiasat mengikut Seksyen 506 Kanun Keseksaan kerana melakukan ancaman yang boleh mendatangkan kegusaran awam.

“Polis memandang serius dan akan mengambil tindakan tegas tanpa kompromi terhadap sebarang bentuk ancaman keselamatan,” kata Hasbullah.

Beliau menambah tindakan itu terutamanya terhadap ancaman yang boleh mengganggu ketenteraman awam.
