Transport Minister Anthony Loke clarifies that outstanding traffic summonses will not disqualify recipients from the BUDI95 petrol subsidy programme
KUALA LUMPUR: Failure to settle outstanding traffic summonses does not affect eligibility for the BUDI MADANI RON95 petrol subsidy.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the two mechanisms operate independently and are not automatically linked.
“Under the current policy, applicants must meet the basic requirements to apply for or continue receiving the BUDI95 subsidy, namely being a Malaysian citizen verified through the MyKad and holding a valid driving licence,” he said in a statement.
He clarified that a valid licence refers to one still within its validity period or expired for no more than three years.
Loke advised the public to continue complying with traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.
The statement was issued to address earlier media reports claiming individuals with unpaid summonses would lose their BUDI95 eligibility.
