Malaysian netizens quickly took to the comments section, praising the MADANI government for the eCOSS initiative.

A Malaysian Threads user has sparked discussion online after claiming that ever since the government’s new eCOSS (Enhanced Control of Strategic Supplies) app came into force, subsidised cooking oil packets have suddenly become much easier to find.

She shared a photo of multiple packets of subsidised cooking oil displayed openly at a local grocery store, along with a notice advising Malaysian shoppers on how to download the eCOSS app to purchase them.

“Ever since ECOSS was enforced, there’s been plenty of packet cooking oil in supermarkets,” she wrote in her post.

Malaysian netizens quickly took to the comments section, praising the MADANI government for the initiative.

User lompat_bintang wrote,
“Yeah… if not, previously it was rationed. The best part is, as soon as it comes out, before you can even grab it, it’s already gone.”

Another user, syafika_suri, added,
“Ever since eCOSS, people also stopped buying in large quantities because they’re no longer worried about the stock constantly running out. I used to always hunt for this cooking oil, but now with eCOSS, I only buy it when mine is finished.”

One commenter shared a more humorous take:
“Before this, it was so frustrating seeing foreign workers even bringing their whole group to buy together, but now it feels so peaceful because you know it won’t run out anymore.”

User mhdhafeezz summed up the general sentiment, saying,
“Great job MADANI government.”
