KULIM: Fuji Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd (FLSB), a prominent logistics provider within the global Fuji Logistics Co Ltd and Mitsubishi Logistics Group, officially opened its new 28,800-square-metre warehouse, Kulim Logistics Centre 2, at Northern Technocity.
The facility represents a major achievement for both Fuji Logistics Malaysia and Northern Technocity, further strengthening the township’s position as a growing logistics and advanced manufacturing hub in northern Malaysia.
FLSB managing director Satoshi Toki said the opening of Kulim Logistics Centre 2 at Northern Technocity marks a significant step in the company’s commitment to supporting the fast-growing advanced manufacturing sector in Kulim, Kedah.
“Northern Technocity provides the ideal environment for our expansion, enabling us to deliver specialised solutions to our customers. We are excited to strengthen our presence here and contribute to the region’s logistics and industrial development,” he said at the event.
FLSB offers comprehensive services, such as bonded warehousing, customs and freight forwarding, transportation, and specialised packing for various industries, especially electronics, with key operations in Kulim Hi-Tech Park and Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Johor, linking Malaysia with the world through efficient supply chain solutions.
In 2012, FLSB opened its first bonded warehouse, Kulim Logistics Centre 1 (KLC1), in Kulim Hi Tech Park, and business has grown steadily since then.
The opening of this new facility, Kulim Logistics Centre 2 in Northern Technocity, three times larger than KLC1, will further enhance its service capabilities, offering better logistics solutions to its valued customers.
Kulim Logistics Centre 2 sits on elevated land for natural flood protection within Northern Technocity, a central hub of the overall Kulim Hi-Tech Park.
Its modern, energy-efficient design incorporates insulated wall panels, weather-resistant and airtight construction, and a concealed clip-lock roof rated for 33.50 m/s wind loads.
The super-flat floor, reinforced with emery/carborundum hardener, provides a durable, dust-free, reflective surface ideal for robotics and high-precision racking.
An ESFR system enhances safety, while a dedicated 11kV power supply, 750 kVA standby generator with 12-hour backup, and upgrade-ready ACMV and electrical systems ensure reliable, future-proof operations.
Northern Technocity, a 354-acre development that commenced in Q3 2021, has achieved a 70% take-up rate from established multinational tenants, including Celestica, BCM Electronics, Aurelius Technologies Bhd, and Nagoya.
The township will soon welcome a leading international MedTech company, reflecting sustained investor confidence driven by its strategic location, infrastructure readiness, and development quality.
Northern Technocity continues to play a pivotal role in driving industrial growth across northern Malaysia.
Designed with sustainable principles, the development features landscaped green belts and comprehensive utility networks that maximise operational efficiency.
Strategically positioned, Northern Technocity offers seamless connectivity to major logistics corridors, including the North–South Expressway, Butterworth–Kulim Expressway, Penang International Airport, KLIA, and key seaports such as Penang Port and Port Klang—providing investors with unparalleled access to both domestic and international markets.
MMC Group Property Division head Gan Seng Keong said Northern Technocity’s industrial development continues to attract multinational foreign direct investments (FDIs).
“Fuji Logistics Malaysia’s growth at Northern Technocity further strengthens the industrial park’s logistics ecosystem.”
“This growth reinforces Kulim and Kedah as a strategic destination for advanced manufacturing and high-value logistics, driving long-term industrial development and economic competitiveness,” he said.
With the launch of Kulim Logistics Centre 2, Fuji Logistics Malaysia strengthens its role as a dependable logistics partner.
