Severe continuous rain is forecast for Kelantan, Terengganu and parts of Pahang and Johor until Thursday, with alert-level warnings for other states.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a severe weather warning for continuous heavy rain until this Thursday.
It forecasts unabated, severe-level rain throughout the states of Kelantan and Terengganu.
The same severe warning applies to Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin in Pahang, and Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor.
An alert-level continuous rain warning is also in effect for several other districts until Thursday.
These include Hulu Perak and Kuala Kangsar in Perak.
The alert also covers Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran and Bera in Pahang.
In Johor, Segamat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru are under an alert-level warning.
A separate alert-level warning for continuous rain is valid only until tomorrow.
This involves the districts of Raub and Bentong in Pahang.
It also covers Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu and Mukah in Sarawak. – Bernama
