12 remanded for four days over Melor market riot

12 individuals, five men and seven women, remanded for four days to assist police investigations into a brawl and riot at Melor public market.

KOTA BHARU: 12 people have been remanded for four days to assist with investigations into a brawl and riot at the Melor public market.

Kota Bharu Police Chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud said the remand order against five men and seven women, aged from their early 20s to late 50s, was issued by Magistrate Rais Imran Hamid.

He added that the remand period begins today to facilitate further investigations in accordance with the law.

Police arrested the 12 individuals yesterday to assist with the investigation into the riot at the market.
