Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim appointed CEO of PNB Merdeka Ventures, tasked with bringing the Merdeka 118 precinct’s major attractions to life
KUALA LUMPUR: PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd (PNBMV) has appointed Datuk Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim (pic) as its new chief executive officer.
His appointment is effective from January 1, 2026.
PNBMV is the developer of the Merdeka 118 precinct in Kuala Lumpur.
The company said Izwan Hasli, the former CEO of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, will steer the precinct’s next chapter.
His focus will be on bringing its defining destinations to life.
These include the 118 Mall, The View at 118 Observation Deck, and the Merdeka Textile Museum.
In a statement, PNBMV highlighted his more than 25 years of leadership experience.
His track record spans real estate development, asset management, oil and gas, and technology.
He has held prominent roles at companies such as Petronas, KLCC Group of Companies and Putrajaya Holdings.
PNBMV is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).
Izwan Hasli’s priorities include driving operational excellence and unlocking asset value.
He will also ensure Merdeka 118 fulfils its promise as a fully integrated and vibrant precinct.
“Building on a strong foundation, 2026 will be a pivotal year with the debut of major attractions that will bring the precinct to life,” Izwan Hasli said.
“By embracing innovation, leveraging digital capabilities and placing people and community at the centre, we aim to position Merdeka 118 as an integrated development that sets a new benchmark for excellence.”
PNB group chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda expressed the board’s confidence in the new CEO.
He said the board is confident Izwan Hasli will advance the landmark precinct as a catalyst for Malaysia’s urban development ambitions.
PNBMV was incorporated in June 2000.
It is the landowner and sole custodian of both Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara.
Both stadiums were listed as “National Heritage” sites in October 2005 under the National Heritage Act 2005.
