Alor Gajah primary schools to get ‘green labs’ for digital literacy

Alor Gajah MP announces ‘green labs’ for primary schools to boost digital literacy, teach software skills and protect pupils from online threats.

ALOR GAJAH: Several primary schools in the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency will soon be equipped with ‘green labs’ to enhance digital literacy among pupils.

Alor Gajah MP Adly Zahari said the initiative aims to introduce pupils to basic software and hardware applications in a safe and structured environment.

“The green labs will allow pupils to produce creative content, learn about the digital world and understand how technology can be applied in daily life,” he told reporters.

He added that the labs would help build digital literacy and reduce vulnerability to scams and other online threats.

Adly, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, spoke after attending a school supplies voucher programme for 500 underprivileged pupils in Pulau Sebang.

Separately, he said a Royal Malaysian Navy technical committee is investigating an emergency landing by an RMN Super Lynx helicopter.

The incident occurred during a New Year’s Eve celebration demonstration flight at Pantai Klebang.

All four crew members on board were rescued and taken to Melaka Hospital for checks.

Adly said the committee will examine the incident thoroughly to determine its cause and identify preventive measures.
