Two Malaysians win Magnum Life Grand Prize back-to-back

Father and retiree each secure RM1,000 daily for 20 years in consecutive Christmas week lottery draws

THE new year has begun on an extraordinary note for two Malaysians who won the Magnum Life grand prize in consecutive draws during the final week of December, each securing RM1,000 daily for the next two decades.

The back-to-back victories, which occurred on Christmas Eve and 27 December, have generated significant excitement among lottery players nationwide, with Magnum 4D describing the occurrence as rare but not entirely unprecedented.

The first winner, a working father from Penang, struck gold on 24 December with just an RM5 Lucky Pick ticket. The winning numbers—05, 09, 12, 15, 16, 23, 25, 26—were drawn at a Jalan Anson outlet, guaranteeing him RM1,000 every day for 20 years, totalling RM7.3 million.

With school-going children, the winner shared that the daily income would help him better plan for their education while easing the burden of long-term financial commitments such as housing loans.

“The win brings reassurance and stability as he looks ahead to the coming years,” Magnum 4D stated.

Just three days later, a retiree from Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, became the second grand prize winner after placing a modest RM3 bet on his self-selected numbers: 01, 05, 08, 13, 23, 27, 30, 36.

For the retiree, the daily winnings represent relief and renewed confidence following the financial challenges brought about by the pandemic. The prize offers peace of mind during his retirement years, allowing him to focus on personal well-being without constant financial worry.

Adding to the festive celebrations, Magnum Life also crowned several second prize winners during the Christmas period. On 27 December, three lucky players each won RM1,000 daily for 100 days, followed by another second prize winner on 28 December.

A Magnum 4D spokesperson noted that while back-to-back grand prize wins may appear unusual, they reflect the game’s growing popularity and consistent player participation.

“It is especially meaningful to see how the same prize can support individuals at very different stages of life, reinforcing Magnum Life’s appeal as a game that offers long-term value and daily rewards,” the spokesperson said.

“With these wins taking place in the final days of December, we are pleased that the winners are able to step into the new year on a positive note, carrying momentum and optimism as they begin the next chapter of their lives.”

Magnum 4D pointed out that a similar double-win scenario was recorded in August 2024, demonstrating the game’s widespread appeal.

Magnum Life allows players to select eight numbers from 01 to 36 or use the Lucky Pick option, with entries starting from just RM1. The game is designed to provide sustained daily winnings rather than one-off payouts, making it popular among players seeking long-term financial security.

Magnum 4D Berhad, founded in 1968, is Malaysia’s premier licensed number forecast operator and a wholly owned subsidiary of Magnum Corporation Sdn Bhd. The company operates 485 sales outlets nationwide and is the first Malaysian lottery operator recognised by the World Lottery Association with Responsible Gaming Level 3 certification.
