KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 2,000 participants joined a series of rallies in the city to submit a memorandum seeking justice for victims of the downed MH17.
The rally, which was organised by BN Youth and saw other NGOs taking part, saw participants march to Wisma UN, the Russian Embassy and Ukrainian Embassy as a show of support and solidarity for MH17 victims and family members.
Rally coordinator Khairul Azwan Harun, who is Umno Youth deputy chief, said among the contents of the memorandum is to make sure the international investigation team members are elected among involved countries.
"Although they have promised to return the victims' remains and black boxes to Malaysia, it is still not enough for us," he told reporters after submitting a memorandum to the Ukrainian Embassy.
"We want the UN, Ukrainian and Russian governments to find those responsible for the shooting to be brought to justice," he said.
The memorandum also demands that no protection be afforded to the perpetrators responsible.
"We must not stop. We will continue to fight and ask the international community to put pressure on countries involved to get the matter resolved quickly," he said.
The first rally was held at Wisma UN in Bukit Damansara at 1pm before the group gathered in front of the Russian Embassy and ended with memorandum submission to the Ukrainian Embassy.
The participants were wearing black with "justice4mh17" printed on their T-shirts. Some were seen holding placards and chanting "we want justice" and "justice for MH17".
