Malaysia’s 100 leading grad employers

Malaysia’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers Award Night 2014 recently celebrated the largest and longest-running graduate careers survey in the country.
Officiated by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar, the event was also graced by TalentCorp Malaysia CEO Johan Merican.
“This year, I am proud to say that we have all done our part to break a record, which is for the highest number of votes gathered for the survey,” said Hee Kim Fah, CEO of GTI Media, the organiser of the event.
A total of 14,760 students and graduates voted for their preferred employers in 17 key sectors.
The Graduate Employer of the Year went to Maybank, followed by AirAsia and CIMB Group.
The most popular graduate employers are: Ernst & Young (Accounting and Professional Services, and also in the category of Consulting); Maybank (Banking and Financial Services); Media Prima Group (Broadcasting/Media); Taylor’s Education Group (Education), Petronas (Energy/Oil and Gas/Utilities); Nestle (FMCG/Retail); Permodalan Nasional Bhd (Government-linked Companies); IBM Malaysia (ICT and Multimedia); Great Eastern Life Assurance (Insurance); AirAsia (Leisure, Travel and Hospitality), and BMW Group (Manufacturing-Automotive).
The other prestigious companies voted most popular graduate employers are Chemical Company Malaysia (Manufacturing-Chemical and Heavy Industries); Samsung Malaysia (Manufacturing-Electronics); Pharmaniaga Bhd (Pharmaceutical),Sime Darby (Plantation/Property and Construction) and Maxis Communications (Telecommunications).
