Recharge at the Curve

Feeling tired or lethargic? Then head on over to the Curve and check out its "Fittest Survives" 10-day health and wellness campaign to give your energy level a boost.
"The subject of fitness has become of greater importance over the years, especially for city-dwellers whose daily schedules often cause them to neglect their own health and wellbeing. This is why, with the return of our annual Health & Wellness campaign, we decided to team up with Fitness First, to encourage our shoppers to try out simple fitness challenges and learn quick exercise routines that take no time at all to practice on a daily basis. Hopefully, visitors to the Curve will enjoy and participate in the activities and pick up new tips for a fitter lifestyle!," said the Curve centre manager Jazmi Kamarudin.
Jointly organised with Fitness First, from April 3 to 12, visitors can try out the two exhilarating programmes, unique to Fitness First. Called Freestyle Group Training (FGT) and Group Exercise (GX), both are suitable to those of all levels of fitness.
FGT uses a range of weights and the latest equipment. It incorporates a series of energetic workouts made to improve the body's overall efficiency and speed. GX, on the other hand, offers a wide choice of classes that allows participants to learn new styles and techniques, designed to improve one's fitness level.
To get participants pumped up and ready to take on a fitter lifestyle, the Curve's Centre Court is transformed into a fitness park, complete with bamboo tree decor and walkways leading to six different FGT booths. Each booth comes with a different challenge, to be completed within 45 seconds. These include the Tire Dead Lift, Plyo Box Jumps, The Target, The Cube, The X Grid and The Web. From weight lifting, to lunges, squats and push-ups, all six FGT challenges will teach participants new ways of pushing the boundaries of their strength and willpower.
As an added incentive, the Curve and Fitness First offer three prizes to participants with the best FGT results. The first prize is a six-month membership at Fitness First, followed by three-month and one-month memberships respectively.
Additionally, a range of workouts, lasting between 30 to 75 minutes, will be held at the Centre Court and Piazza every Friday to Sunday in the mornings and evenings. These group exercises will be led by trained Fitness First instructors and include Zumba, dance-filled Sh'bam, action-packed Body Combat, Body Attack, as well as slower-paced Body Balance routines. The annual health and wellness campaign will also offer a range of products and services by Shakura, Dorra, New York Skin Solution, Yun Nam Hair Care, London Weight Management, Ogawa, STRIP and Fitness First. All these and more take place at the Curve's Centre Court.
