Liner in all its forms dominates fall 2015 eye makeup

THE eyes have it, or so they say, and it is certainly true for fall 2015. If there is one product you'll be stocking up on this season then trust us, it's eyeliner.
Glamorous, feline, trashy or gothic... All eyes were on the peepers during the Autumn/Winter 2015 shows. Saint Laurent was the talk of Paris after Hedi Slimane sent models down the runway sporting exaggeratedly blocked-out liner that almost reached the eyebrows. The look was graphic, angular, high-voltage grunge, but above all it was bold and striking.
You can now recreate the look using the new Yves Saint Laurent Beauty collection Pretty Metal, a rocky, neo-grunge line that launched this week based on a dark palette of blacks and metallic tones, as in the Couture Palette.
Elsewhere on the catwalks Fendi put its own modern, geometric twist on the cat eye by making it straight and masculine, while Oscar de la Renta kept things fluid and elegant and Chanel opted for a bold but pretty aesthetic. Models at the show wore the house's new Exclusive Creation eyeshadow in Entrelacs, launched this summer, defined with Ombre Essentielle in Midnight.
In summary, the perfect cat eye for this fall is geometric, bold, and a little messy. Consider a gel liner such as Benefit's They're Real! Push-Up Liner for a long-lasting edge.
But if you're not ready to cross over to the dark side, don't worry: earthy shades are also bang on trend for fall 2015.
Soft eggplant hues stole the show at Burberry Prorsum AW15, where the look was dreamy and romantic. Chanel has also just revealed its new makeup collection Les Automnales, a series of soft hues based on the natural colors of the season, with muted tones illuminated by shimmering touches of gold, bronze or copper, evocative of the plays of light cast by rays of sunlight on tree branches.
For an even subtler vibe, check out the new Café Parisien collection by Paul & Joe, which launches in September and features a series of soft latte shades. – AFP Relaxnews
