Review - London Has Fallen

THIS sequel to the highly-riveting Olympus Has Fallen sees US Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) travelling to London with his boss, US President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart), to attend the funeral of UK’s prime minister who had died suddenly.
Banning was planning to quit the Secret Service upon returning from London because his wife (Radha Mitchell) and he are expecting their first child.
However, once in London, it quickly becomes apparent that it is a trap to kill all the foreign leaders present in revenge for a drone attack that killed the daughter of terrorist mastermind Aamir Barkawi (Alon Moni Aboutboul).
Using carefully-planted gunmen in the guise of a policeman, palace guards and also ambulance personnel, they make short work of the security detail surrounding the dignitaries, killing most of the world leaders and also civilians who just happened to be in the vicinity.
Banning manages to rescue President Asher. Forced to escape on foot after their chopper crashes, the two must stay one step ahead of the army of terrorists, led by Barkawi’s son Kamran (Waleed Zuaiter), who has crippled London and plans to execute Asher live on the internet.
As US Vice President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) tries to send help, he and the rest of the White House staff must contend with the fact that the terrorists have control of all communication going in and out of London and that there is a mole within the London security forces who is behind it.
Overall, the movie delivers what it promises, and fans of Butler will enjoy watching their hero stab, strangle, shoot and blow up baddies in the film.
