Six-year-old slips through open window and falls to death

SHAH ALAM: A six-year-old boy fell to his death after slipping and falling through an open window of his apartment unit on the third floor of a teachers' quarters at Jalan Kebun, Section 32 here on Sunday.
Muhammad Syafiq Shyahmi Mohammad Sauffi, a kindergarten student, was found dead on the ground floor of the quarters.
He suffered broken limbs and a fractured skull.
It is learnt that he was playing at home in the presence of his mother, a teacher, and his stepfather at about 5pm when the freak incident occurred.
Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat said the victim's family was unaware the boy had climbed on a table which was next to an open window in the living room of the apartment.
He said the boy fell through the window as it had no grilles installed.
He said the victim's body was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for a post mortem that showed no external injuries and the cause of death consistent with the fall.
Shafien said the case is classified as sudden death as no elements of foul play was found in the case.
