Battering girlfriend, former lead singer Kecik of Hyper Act poorer by RM200

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selayang Magistrate's Court today ordered Kecik, former lead singer of rock band Hyper Act, to pay a compound fine of RM200 to his girlfriend for hurting her.
Magistrate Iriane Isabelo made the decision after both parties agreed to settle the matter amicably as provided for under Section 260 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Earlier, Kecik whose real name is Muhammad Fauzi Kamaruddin, 22, had pleaded guilty to intentionally hurting Farah Nurizzati Salleh, 24, at Batu 6 3/4, Kampung Changkat, Gombak, here at 7.13pm on March 12.
Kecik, who donned a face mask after the proceedings, was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code and was liable to be jailed up to a year or fined a maximum of RM2,000 or both.
Deputy public prosecutor Azhwa Yusrie Mohamad did not object to the case being settled with a compound fine. — Bernama
