JOHOR BARU: Teachers and students of SJK (T) Taman Tun Aminah here held a special birthday assembly in conjunction with the Sultan of Johor's birthday celebrations.
At the event, organised at the school together with the district education department and the school's parent teacher association, a 24*48 –meter-long Johor flag was beautifully constructed using painted coconut shells.
More than 300 standard five and standard six students had taken 15 hours daily over a span of seven days to smooth each coconut shell and have the shells painted.

State Human Resources and Unity committee chairman R.Vidyananthan who launched the event said their tireless feat earned them a place in the Malaysia Book of Records for the biggest Johor state flag made from coconut shells'.
"The school also emerged as the top tamil school in the state in the recent UPSR examination and it is only befitting they receive an allocation of RM15, 000 for the school.
"The key to their success is their relentless efforts in unity which should be taken as example by other schools," he said.
The event concluded with Malaysia Book of Records director of operations Christoper Wong awarding the certificate.
