Ex-company secretary claims trial to making false statements
JOHOR BARU (Feb 18, 2014): An ex-company secretary pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today to three counts of making false statements to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) registrar last year.
Khaeromze Ahmad, 41, is accused of making the false statements on a Form 49 and two Form 32A on March 21 2013 under Sections 364 (2) of the Companies Act (Act 125).
The alleged false statements were related to the resignations of Armas Madina Sdn Bhd directors, Marina Bakri, 44 and Ruzahana Endot @ Mohd Endut, 44 and about the transfers of their shares in the company to his wife, Noorlis Sawit, 41 and to himself respectively.
The offences are punishable by a maximum of 10 years in prison or RM250,000 fine or both, upon conviction. CCM prosecuting officer Steve Chin applied for a bail of RM20,000 per count but the accused, who was unrepresented, appealed for a lesser sum as he was unemployed and the sole bread winner for his family.
Judge Mohamad Haldar Abdul Aziz set bail at RM15,000 for each count and scheduled March 6 for remention. – Bernama
