Chinese New Year toll discount on Smart highway, Maju Expressway

KUALA LUMPUR: Syarikat Mengurus Air Banjir dan Terowong Sdn Bhd (Smart) is offering a 10% discount on the toll for users of the Smart tunnel in the city from 6 am on Feb 10 to 6 am on Feb 11 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.
The discounted toll rate is RM2.70 either way compared to the usual RM3.
"The toll discount offered this year is special because it is given earlier than in previous years as a gesture of our concern for the users of the Smart highway tunnel," Smart Expressway chief operating officer Sharifah Alauyah Wan Othman said in a statement today. Chinese New Year falls on Feb 16 and 17.
She said it was hoped that the people would take the opportunity to use the highway to get to the city for their shopping in preparation for the festival.
In a separate statement, Maju Expressway Sdn Bhd said it was offering a 10% discount on the toll to users of the Maju Expressway (MEX) from midnight to 11.59 pm on Chinese New Year.
"It is estimated that over 96,000 vehicles will benefit from the discount," it said. — Bernama
