Fire destroys restaurant, squatter homes in Bandar Baru Sentul

KUALA LUMPUR: A restaurant and six squatter houses located in Bandar Baru Sentul were destroyed in a fire here today.
There were no casualties reported in the incident, according to a Kuala Lumpur Fire Operation Operation Centre spokesperson.
He said the centre received a distress call at about 11.25am before dispatching 40 personnel and five engines from the Fire and Rescue Stations in Sentul, Titiwangsa, Hang Tuah, Sri Hartamas and Gombak Selatan to the scene.
"The restaurant was completely razed while the squatter houses were 90% destroyed," he said when contacted by Bernama adding that the fire was put out at 1.10pm.
The cause of the fire and cost of damage were still under investigation, he said. — Bernama
